JANUARY IS NATIONAL SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION MONTH

The headlines today read “Ghislaine Maxwell is convicted of sex trafficking minors.” While an appropriate end to the perpetrator who abused young girls it seems a small step forward in stopping Sex Trafficking in our nation.

Some might be screaming for blood for this sex offender but I wonder what a person would have to go through to decline into such evil. Is there hope for a person who is degenerate and abuses children? I believe there is. In fact, I believe Jesus died on the cross for precisely the person of Ghislaine Maxwell.

Which brings me back to the same place I found myself after learning about sex trafficking in America ten years ago.

How can we help the victims and how can we prevent the acts through the promulgation of solutions toward ending it?

There are many wonderful resources to help inform us on how to play an important role in stopping trafficking in our country.

We don’t simply have to read about it in the papers, articles or books. There are ways we can take simple action against the injustice we see against these victims.

A new resource you might find helpful is The Justice Network. You can find the link at the end of this blogpost. I think we all want to see exploitation of small children end. Many may feel this way but have no idea where to start.

On this website you will find the resources to use to make phone calls, connect with others who want to make a difference even if it is to pray for those who are “boots on the ground.” Or if you find you need prayer for your current situation.

I do not like to post resources without knowing the writer and/or creator of such resource at least as an acquaintance. My friend, Beth Domstein, with the help of a knowledgeable mentor and a group of compassionate supporters started the Justice Network.

She has a heart for people and a love for Jesus to make a difference in a seemingly unstoppable industry. I love the blogs she has posted already for encouragement and faith-filled truth to uplift you and be glad you took the time to visit.

In these dark times don’t forget ~ Jesus is STILL the light of the World!
